Partnership forged between Dry Creek Rancheria and Caesars Entertainment, focusing on development of Caesars Republic in Sonoma County.
The Dry Creek Rancheria Band of Pomo Indians, in partnership with Caesars Entertainment and Gaming and Leisure Properties, have announced the groundbreaking of Caesars Republic Sonoma County. This project marks a significant transformation of the long-standing River Rock Casino in Sonoma County, California.
Location and Scenery
The resort is conveniently located off U.S. Highway 101, above Alexander Valley Vineyards, near the Russian River. This prime location offers scenic views overlooking the vineyards and the river, placing it in a notable wine country destination.
Features
Scheduled to open in mid-2027, the development will feature a new casino floor with over 1,000 slot machines and 28 table games. A 100 to 125-room hotel under the Caesars Republic brand will also be part of the resort, offering luxury amenities including a wellness spa, a pool, and a fitness center.
Guests can enjoy a variety of dining options, including a steakhouse and other robust food and beverage choices. The project marks the first time Caesars extends its Republic brand—typically a non-gaming urban hotel concept—into a tribal casino resort setting.
Partners' Roles
- The Dry Creek Rancheria Band of Pomo Indians, as the owner of the gaming license and operator of the casino under tribal sovereignty and federal Indian gaming laws, are at the helm of this project.
- Caesars Entertainment, as the development and management partner, brings its brand strength and operational expertise to the table. Caesars does not own or license the casino but manages the resort operations.
- Gaming and Leisure Properties, Inc. (GLPI) serves as the lead real estate financing partner for the project.
- Citizens Financial Group, Inc. leads the project financing.

The project was initiated by citizens and is a significant step forward for Dry Creek Rancheria and its community. Caesars Republic Sonoma County is expected to elevate the economic and cultural legacy of the region.
