Mentorship Platform Aims to Empower Women of Color in the Realm of Advertising Success
In the bustling city of New York, eight years ago, Shaunah Margaret moved to the city for an internship in the advertising field. The corporate world she found herself in was dominated by white men, and at the time, she had no family or friends nearby. This initial feeling of isolation was a defining moment for Shaunah.
Over the next eight years, Shaunah acclimated to her surroundings and her career in New York City. However, her experiences in the corporate world left a lasting impact on her. Recognising the importance of community and the significance of her experiences, Shaunah developed a deep-seated intention to give back.
Shaunah's desire to give back was not just a fleeting thought. It was a commitment she held close to her heart. She wanted to help others who were navigating similar situations, especially women of colour, just like herself.
Shaunah's focus on mentorship was a response to her experiences in the corporate world. She identified herself as one of the people she aimed to help. Her efforts were geared towards helping people like herself, providing guidance and support to those who might face the same challenges she did.
Shaunah specifically targeted women of colour for her community-focused efforts. She felt ready to use her experiences to help others, to guide them through the corporate world and help them thrive. Today, Shaunah Margaret continues her commitment to mentorship, making a difference in the lives of many.
