Casinos affiliated with RealPrize Sweepstakes leave three additional states
In a recent development, RealPrize, a popular sweepstakes casino, has announced that it will continue to operate legally in the states of New Jersey, Louisiana, and Delaware. This comes despite the expected signing or approval of New Jersey legislation against sweepstakes casinos on August 14, which may affect the operations of RealPrize.
The New Jersey legislation is specifically targeting RealPrize, but the company has confirmed that it will continue to serve its users in the state, operating under the sweepstakes model. This model uses Gold Coins (GC) for entertainment and Sweepstakes Coins (SC) for promotional gameplay, which can be redeemed.
It's important to note that RealPrize is already legal and available for play in the vast majority of states, with only a few exceptions such as Michigan, Idaho, Washington, and Nevada restricting access. However, RealPrize is leaving these states, including New Jersey and Louisiana.
The departure from New Jersey and Louisiana comes after Louisiana sent 42 cease-and-desist letters to various sweepstakes casinos, but RealPrize was not among the recipients. Similarly, RealPrize is also leaving Delaware.
Richard Janvrin, the founder of RealPrize, began his professional career in sports coverage in 2015. He later entered the iGaming space in 2018, covering various aspects of the industry, including news, reviews, bonuses/promotions, sweepstakes casinos, and legal issues. Janvrin is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire.
RealPrize offers a vast catalog of over 350 casino-style games from well-known developers, free-to-play options, and ongoing promotions, including sizeable welcome bonuses of Gold Coins and Sweepstakes Coins usable in these states.
In New Jersey, RealPrize operates legally alongside traditional state-licensed casinos, as the state is known for regulated online gambling. Similarly, Louisiana allows sweepstakes casinos like RealPrize to operate legally under sweepstakes laws. Delaware recognizes sweepstakes casinos, making RealPrize available and legal in the state.
Despite the challenges, RealPrize remains committed to providing virtual currency-based casino entertainment rather than traditional real-money gambling in New Jersey, Louisiana, and Delaware.
